There's too much plays to it and too much guessing. 'Control+shift+left/right' take me a few clicks on the jog wheel to register one frame advancement. I must turn the wheel slowly if I want to advance precisely one frame per wheel click at a time. then I'll have to go back because I've overshot my mark. If I do this long enough and stop, the time cursor will keep on going for 5 to 20 seconds more. Almost like I am overwhelming it with a lot of the same key presses. I preferred this setup over 'control+shift+Left/Right'.īut if I turn the jog wheel normally, or fast, it resulted in some sort of lag or delay. This gives me the one frame advancement per wheel click if I turn the wheel slowly. I have tried both of them.Ĭurrently, my Jog Left/Right is set to '.' and ',', which is the same thing as left arrow and right arrow, according to Lightworks's default key assignments. If someone knows of a way to change this behavior via a configuration file in Lightworks, I'd love to hear about that. That bring me to my request to have the option/ability to change the Editing window's mouse scrolling behavior to be same behavior as the mouse scrolling behavior in the Viewer window. I do not see options to change this behavior. If I try to use the scrolling wheel via either the mouse or the ShuttlePro on the Editing window (the one with red outline), it'll go through the timeline's cuts and cues instead of playing back one frame at a time. It only worked on the Viewer window (the one with the blue outline). This is exactly how the jog wheel should be behaving. It's a very precise and controlled experience. Then, the jog wheel worked fantastically. That is to map the mouse's scrolling wheel to the jog wheel in the Contour's configuration program. I've stumbled on the best way to get the jog wheel working precisely. My jog configuration is currently set to 'left arrow' and 'right arrow' but I must turn the wheel slowly to avoid the lags. It's not a very precise and smooth experience. Or it keeps going and going long after I've stopped turning the jog wheel. If I turns the wheel around too fast, the computer lagged and then quickly catch up. The keyboard keys and shortcuts just do not cut it. I've read other posts on the different shortcut setups for jogging and they're all resulted in the same way. I am using a Contour ShuttlePro v2 to control/edit the videos with in Lightworks 12.5 but I have not found a good set up for the jog wheel.
